Introduction

Hello, Friends!

I decided to start this blog in honor of my late Lola Demet (grandmother) and the way she cooked and treated me all her life. I'm not just going to share my Lola's recipes with you; I'm also excited to share my mom's specific recipes with you, as well as mine, which is a combination of my Lola Demet, my mom, and my own style.

In addition, I have a surprise entry of tastes from around the world, because my mother-in-law turned out to be an amazing cook with knowledge of recipes from all over the world, and she has just agreed to share her special recipes as well.

I was extremely fortunate because all of these ladies have a natural talent for cooking. They have a distinct cooking style and use a variety of ingredients, but their meals are always delicious.

When I was five years old and my brother was three, my parents decided to relocate to Manila for work. And it was during this time that my grandparents looked after us.

My grandparents, Lola Demet and Lolo Dolfo are the best in the world. They were incredibly kind and loving to us.

My Lola Demet prepared delicious and unique meals for us. She was always buying fruits for us to eat so that we could stay healthy. She took pleasure in serving my Lolo (Grandfather), me, and my brother.

I was always impressed by the flavor of the food she prepared, even when I was a kid. I was constantly asking her what the ingredients were and how to prepare them. And she was overjoyed to show me how. I'm writing these words because I recall times when I was assisting her in the kitchen and was very observant and happy.

When I get a craving for something my Lola cooked, all I have to do is close my eyes and remember what ingredient she used.

And on August 31, 2021, at 11:46 a.m. in my kitchen in Dubai, UAE, while I was starving and thinking what to cook, I realized I had a lot of recipes floating around in my head and at that moment all the memories of my dearest Lola Demet came flooding back to me and my eyes, and I told myself that I would start writing and sharing her special recipes as a tribute to her.

Pancit Molo is the first recipe I'll share with you because I'm from Molo, Iloilo City, Philippines.
